BMC, District Court invite comments on eFiling in summary process cases
The chief justices of the District and Boston Municipal courts invite comments on a proposed joint standing order setting forth provisions for eFiling in summary process cases.
Presently, the case types that may be eFiled through the efilema.com website in the Boston Municipal Court and District Court are civil, small claims. and supplementary process. The proposed standing order would allow for the eFiling of the summary process case type. Under the proposed joint standing order, eFiling in summary process cases in the Boston Municipal Court and District Court would be left to the discretion of the parties.

Hampden Probate and Family Court opens
satellite registry office
On Monday, May 9, the Hampden Probate and Family Court opened a new satellite registry office in the Chicopee City Hall, 17 Springfield St., Chicopee. The hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Court hearings will not take place at the Chicopee location.
Cash payments will not be accepted. Only checks and credit card payments will be accepted at this location.

Assistant clerk-magistrate in Wareham District Court
The Massachusetts Trial Court is accepting applications through May 19 for the position of assistant clerk-magistrate in the Wareham District Court. Employees in this position assist the clerk-magistrate in performing magisterial and administrative duties as set forth in state statutes and court rules.
Magisterial responsibilities include determining probable cause for the issuance of criminal complaints and search warrants, in-court and out-of-court bail determinations, determinations of preliminary probation violation hearings, adjudicating small claims motions and trials, and presiding over both civil and criminal motor vehicle hearings. Administrative responsibilities include the preparation and maintenance of all court papers and records and performance of administrative tasks to ensure that cases move rapidly and smoothly to a determination by the court.

Career law clerk and chambers administrator at Supreme Judicial Court
The career law clerk and chambers administrator serves two Supreme Judicial Court justices both as a law clerk and also as the principal administrator for their chambers.
The position requires outstanding academic achievement, writing, analytical skills and legal research ability and the ability to work professionally, independently and confidentially. Additional requirements include a J.D. degree, with a strong academic record, from an American Bar Association-accredited law school; bar membership; and at least one year of prior experience in a judicial clerkship.
