The Massachusetts Bar Association welcomes back our Labor & Employment members to the 43rd Annual Labor & Employment Spring Conference on Wednesday, May 18, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. This year’s conference will be an in-person event at Suffolk University Law School. Faculty presenters include a number of judges and accomplished attorneys who have provided significant thought leadership in the areas of labor and employment law.

This year's keynote speaker is U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh. A lifelong champion of equity and fairness, and a proud product of the City of Boston, Walsh leads the U.S. Department of Labor with a strong connection to working people and a commitment to creating an economy that works for all.

Walsh spent the last seven years as the mayor of Boston. While mayor, he led the creation of close to 140,000 jobs and helped secure a statewide $15/hour minimum wage, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave. He established universal, high-quality pre-kindergarten for all children, and free community college for low-income students.

Other conference highlights include:

  • Employment Law Update
  • Labor Law Update
  • COVID-19's Everlasting Impact in the Workplace: Vaccine Mandates, Returning to the Office, Remote Work and Reasonable Accommodations
  • Annual Judicial Panel
