Several members of the MBA will be recognized next month during the annual Red Mass sponsored by the St. Thomas More Society of Catholic Lawyers and Judges. The individuals will be honored because their lives are examples to the legal community as well as the local community.
Those being recognized include attorneys Thomas J. Donoghue, Henry A. Moran Jr., John D. Ross Jr., Charles V. Ryan Jr. and Carol J. Kantany-Casartello; Appeals Court Judge Kent B. Smith; and retired judges Ann M. Gibbons and William T. Walsh.
Springfield Bishop Thomas L. Dupre will celebrate the Mass at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 in St. Michael's Cathedral on State Street in Springfield.
The St. Thomas More Society sponsors the Red Mass annually to ask for the blessing and guidance of the Holy Spirit upon the courts.
