Kathleen M. O'Donnell

Age: 48

Education: B.A., Wheaton College, 1977; J.D., Suffolk University Law School, 1980.
Legal Career:
Expert in auto insurance and concentrates practice in civil work, but also does workers' compensation, criminal, probate and domestic law.

MBA Service: Vice president, 2002-2003; served on many MBA committees and sections, including the Presidential Task Force on the Preservation of Rights, Liberties and Access to Justice, the Budget and Finance Committee (former chair) and the Civil Litigation section (former chair).

Additional Service: Former president, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys; also has worked closely with the Association of Trial Lawyers during the last decade, having served several years as the chair of the State Affairs Committee and having represented ATLA throughout the county in legislative and policy debates on insurance issues.

Legal Career: Trial lawyer with Meehan, Boyle, Black & Fitzgerald since its inception in 1985; associate, Parker, Coulter, Daley & White in Boston, 1984; and associate, Hutchins and Wheeler in Boston, 1979-1983.

MBA Service: Treasurer, 2002-2003; co-chair, Court Study Task Force, current; has served as chair, Litigation Section, and member of the Executive Management Board, Budget and Finance Committee and House of Delegates; former co-chair of the Presidential Task Force on the Preservation of Rights, Liberties and Access to Justice and has served on numerous other committees of the association.

John G. Dugan

Legal Career: Specializes in probate law and family law.

Additional Service: Past president, Norfolk County and Western Norfolk Bar Associations; Town Moderator for the town of Millis since 1977; past vice-chair, Millis Charter Commission.

Mark Mason

Age: 45

Firm: Principle of Cooley, Shrair of Springfield.

Education: B.A., Columbia College, 1980; J.D., Boston University School of Law, 1984.

Legal Career: Principle in firm's litigation department, where he concentrates his practice in commercial litigation and domestic law; and admitted to the state courts of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Courts of Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Massachusetts.

MBA Service: Secretary, 2002-2003; former chair of New Lawyers Section Council and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee; former secretary, Judicial Administration Section Council; current chair, Same Gender Marriage Task Force; and has served seven years on the MBA House of Delegates and Board of Delegates and six years on the Executive Management Board and Executive Committee.

Legal Career: Primarily a business litigator with significant experience in general civil litigation and business and commercial law. Admitted in the courts of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Also admitted pro hac vice in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Districts of Connecticut, Delaware, New Hampshire, Ohio and Rhode Island.

MBA Service: Former chair, New Lawyers Section Council; former Region 6 (Essex County) Delegate on the House of Delegates; has served on Budget and Finance Committee, Policy and Governance Committee, Executive Management Board and Committee on Sections; frequent lecturer and contributor for MBA Continuing Legal Education programs.

Additional Service: Member, Essex County Bar Association (member, Board of Directors, 1994-2003), Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and frequent lecturer for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education; also member, Ipswich School Committee since 1995, serving as chair, 1999-2001; and active in Ipswich Youth Soccer, serving as both a coach and travel director.
