MassBarEducatesThis program will focus on how to defend against 58A dangerousness hearings. The request of the commonwealth to hold a client without bail for 120 days in District Court or 180 days in Superior Court is one of the most serious deprivations of liberty a client can face while the presumption of innocence still applies. This program will review preparations and investigation for the hearing, evidentiary objections, cross- and direct examinations of witnesses, and arguments for release.

This program is approved for 1 YAD Trial/ YAD Appeals/ Criminal Trial credit.
