Land Court updates Standing Order 2-23 on mandatory eFiling

newsfromcourtsOn Feb. 16, with the approval of the chief justice of the Trial Court, the Land Court amended Land Court Standing Order 2-23: Implementation of mandatory electronic filing for attorneys in certain case types in the Land Court Department, effective May 1, 2024.

This amendment adds a new Section IV(C) to Standing Order 2-23, which makes electronic filing (“eFiling”) mandatory for all attorney filers in the Miscellaneous (MISC) and Permit Session (PS) case types, effective May 1, 2024.  eFiling will remain optional for self-represented litigants.  

Included with the standing order is an announcement from the Land Court Recorder’s Office about the adoption of mandatory eFiling in the MISC and PS case types. The Land Court will host two public drop-in Zoom sessions to provide training, assist with registering accounts, and answer any questions related to eFiling in the Land Court on April 12 and April 19, from 2-4 pm.
