Labor & Employment sponsors Feb. 6 Dial-A-Lawyer

Issue March 2008

The Feb. 6 Dial-A-Lawyer Program was sponsored by the Labor & Employment Section, with eight section members out of the 13 volunteer attorneys staffing phones. The group answered 118 calls at the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Boston office from the general public between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Dial-A-Lawyer has been in existence since 1991 and has helped thousands of people by giving them the opportunity to speak to an attorney via the telephone free of charge.

If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer and assist people who are in need or you are having a problem finding the time to volunteer because of your busy schedule and other commitments, Dial-A-Lawyer may be the best volunteer program for your schedule and interests.

The MBA is seeking attorney volunteers to staff the phones for our monthly program on the first Wednesday of every month, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is just a two-hour, once-a-month commitment answering basic legal questions from the public on the telephone.
