Patrick O. McAleer has joined the Litigation Practice Group of Looney & Grossman LLP. His practice encompasses commercial and business litigation matters with a focus on maritime and transportation law in both federal and state courts.

McAleer's previous maritime and legal experience includes working at Monahan & Associates, PC and Clinton & Muzyka, PC.

Matthew Ralen Roberts has joined Duane Morris LLP as an associate. He received his J.D. in 2002 from Boston College Law School.

Mary Ellen Welch Rogers has joined Goulston & Storrs as a member in the Asset Backed Lending Practice within its Commercial Group. Rogers was previously a member in the Banking, Lending and Finance and Technology Groups at Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, P.C. in Boston.

For more than 10 years, Rogers has represented secured and unsecured creditors in negotiation and preparation of out-of-court workouts and restructurings, and in reorganization and liquidation cases. Her practice encompasses complex asset based loan documentation, loan workouts and debtor in possession financing. She has represented lender interests in national and regional bankruptcy cases with a particular focus on retail, including such companies as The Weathervane, Leejay Bed and Bath, Lauriat's, Filene's Basement, Crown Books, Gantos, Hit or Miss and Lids.

Prior to joining Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, Rogers practiced in the Bankruptcy Department at Verrill & Dana in Portland, Maine.

The Boston Patent Law Association has elected its officers and directors for 2004. This includes MBA members Doreen M. Hogle, president-elect; Ingrid A. Beattie, vice president; Lee Carl Bromberg, treasurer; and Leslie Meyer-Leon, secretary. Other officers and directors named to the Boston Patent Law Association include Peter F. Corless, president, and Board of Governor members Peter C. Lando, Mark B. Solomon, Lisa J. Michaud and J. Grant Houston.

Robinson & Cole - a law firm that has offices in Boston - recently upgraded and enhanced its Web site, RC.com. The redesigned Internet look and layout provides easy access to essential information for existing and prospective clients.

Most notable changes include a deal room and a hot legal topics section, which give readers access to the latest information on Robinson & Cole transactions as well as details on the most current issues that impact the legal and business world such as food bioterrorism, homeland security and Sarbanes-Oxley. An improved search function has also been added so visitors can save time by quickly accessing topics of particular importance. Other enhancements include a newsroom for the media to get the latest scoop on legal trends and topics, access media contacts and download photos and logos. A new Alumni Center allows former lawyers at Robinson & Cole to network and share stories.
