On Wednesday, April 11, the House Committee on Ways and Means released its budget for FY19. The budget proposal included $20 million in funding for Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation, $2 million over the FY18 appropriation, but short of MLAC’s request of $5 million in additional funding. Reps. Claire Cronin and Ruth Balser have filed an amendment which seeks an additional $2 million in funding. The full House is expected to debate the FY19 budget the week of April 23.
