MBA wins national communications award

Issue December 2004

The MBA Communications Department has won a national award for a unique project that was unveiled at last year's Annual Conference.

The 2004 Luminary Award in Special Publications, presented by the National Association of Bar Executives' Communications Section and sponsored by Thomson West, was given for "Per Diem," the daily newsletter produced on-site at MBA's Annual Conference 2004. The publication featured live news, program updates and photographs of events taking place throughout the three-day conference.

MBA staff members Krista Zanin, Geoff Pahl, Stephan Anstey and William Weber met late deadlines each night during the conference to produce fresh copies "hot off the press" when attendees arrived for each day's programs.

The annual Luminary Awards are overseen by a panel of 15 judges from bar associations across the country. The MBA previously won two Luminaries in 2003, in the marketing and Web site design categories.
