Join the Massachusetts Bar Association on Thursday, March 20, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the MBA headquarters (20 West St., Boston) for an open legal community discussion on potential implications of the recent federal attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The discussion will cover various topics, including the scope of the executive orders, what they cover and what they don't, and what is legal and what is not in our DEI work moving forward.
The program will assess current developments at the federal level, what to expect next locally, and how to continue the progress that many have worked so hard to achieve.
Moderated by MBA Treasurer Shayla Mombeleur, the panel discussion will feature the following speakers:
- Chief Segun Idowu, chief of economic opportunity and inclusion for the City of Boston
- Augusto Goncalves, former senior advisor for strategic outreach with the Office of Political Strategy and Outreach of The White House
- Carol Guerrero, Esq., of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, Boston
- Elizabeth Matos, Esq., Civil Rights Division chief and senior advisor to the attorney general
