Massachusetts Bar Association volunteer attorneys and judges recently visited high school history and political science classes around the state as part of the American Bar Association's annual civics education initiative that coincides with the May 1 celebration of Law Day.

Presentations took place throughout the month of May and centered on the 2024 Law Day theme, "Voices of Democracy,” with a specific focus on the evolution of American voting rights. This year's Law Day theme encouraged Americans to participate in the 2024 elections by deepening their understanding of the electoral process, discussing issues in honest and civil ways, turning out to vote, and helping to move the country forward after free and fair elections.

Central Catholic High School, Lawrence – Ryan Sullivan

During the MBA's month-long observance of Law Day, elder law attorneys also delivered free presentations at their local senior centers and councils on aging, where they covered topics of importance to older adults (see related story).
