The Massachusetts Bar Association applauds last week's historic
U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding same-sex marriage equality in
all 50 states.
Massachusetts was the first state in the nation to allow
same-sex marriage in the groundbreaking Goodridge decision by the
Supreme Judicial Court in 2003. The MBA filed an amicus brief in
support of same-sex marriage in that case.
"The Massachusetts Bar Association has supported same-sex
marriage equality since the early 1990s and today's Supreme Court
decision is a major victory for our entire country and especially
here in Massachusetts where we led the way in making same-sex
marriage a universal right," said MBA President Marsha V.
Kazarosian.
