As every lawyer should know, the general diversity jurisdiction statute, 28 U.S.C. s. 1332(a), requires complete diversity between all plaintiffs on the one hand and all defendants on the other.

What is the citizenship of limited liability companies? Of a trust? Of a free-spirited backpacker hitchhiking his way around the country? Recent decisions in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts and the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit highlight the complexities of citizenship and the importance of establishing it early.

The Complex Commercial Litigation Section invites you to join this webinar and hear from Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV and Boston College Law School Professor Sergio Campos about best practices to establish or dispute jurisdiction based on diversity.

This webinar was  hosted using Zoom.
