Massachusetts Bar Association member Mariem Marquetti, an associate at Sherin and Lodgen LLP in Boston, presented the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education program, “ABA Ethics Opinion 512 & You,” on Jan. 31. Marquetti discussed American Bar Association Ethics Opinion 512 on the use of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools, provided an overview of GAI basic concepts, and lent insights on ethical concerns arising from using these tools, such as billing for GAI use and disclosure.
Marquetti focuses her practice primarily on civil litigation, representing clients in complex employment matters, commercial disputes, real estate litigation, and professional liability matters before state and federal courts, as well as before state agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Damien M. DiGiovanni, a partner at Morgan, Brown & Joy in Boston, moderated the Employment Law Alliance webinar, “2025 ELA Year in Review: US Labor Law,” on Jan. 30. Along with labor law experts from across the country, DiGiovanni led an in-depth discussion on the most recent developments within the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and labor law, including upcoming legal changes, captive audience speeches, and limitations on confidentiality.
DiGiovanni represents public- and private-sector clients in various industries, including higher education, transportation, retail, public utilities, municipalities and health care, both in Massachusetts and across the country. His labor law practice includes day-to-day counseling to clients regarding contract administration and compliance with various state and federal labor laws. He represents employers in collective bargaining, in grievance arbitration, and in proceedings before the NLRB, the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations, and state and federal courts.
