
Comments sought on proposed Juvenile Court rule changes
The Juvenile Court is seeking comments on proposed amendments to the Juvenile Court Rules on the Care and Protection of Children. These rules apply to all actions in the Juvenile Court for the care and protection of children, including guardianship of minors, child support, parentage, name change, and actions seeking to dispense with parental consent to adoption, custody, guardianship, or any other disposition of the child pursuant to G.L. c. 119 and c. 210.
Public comments may be sent via email to admin-jccallctr@jud.state.ma.us. Comments may also be mailed to Anne Marie Ritchie, Assistant Deputy Court Administrator, Administrative Office of the Juvenile Court, 1 Center Plaza, 7th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
All comments must be received on or before Monday, Dec. 2.

Dec. 12 info session to cover § 341 Zoom meetings
On Thursday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m.-noon, debtor and creditor attorneys are invited to attend the U.S. trustee's virtual information session on the rollout of Zoom § 341 meetings.
Coming soon, all Chapter 7, 12 and 13 § 341 meetings in Massachusetts will
transition to Zoom video meetings. The session is open to everyone and will cover a variety of topics, including:
- Connecting to a Zoom meeting
- Participating in a virtual meeting
- Requirements for verifying a debtor’s ID

Bankruptcy Court to hold brown bag for young attorneys
On Thursday, Nov. 21, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts will hold a brown bag lunch for emerging young professionals who have been practicing for 10 years or fewer. The event will take place in the library of the John W. McCormack Post Office and Courthouse, 5 Post Office Square, Boston.

U.S. Courts notice regarding fake NEFs
The Administrative Office of U.S. Courts has advised that fake notices of electronic filing (NEFs) are being sent to attorneys and law firms across the country. The NEFs are phishing attempts and are designed to have the recipient respond and open a subsequent email that leads the recipient to a malicious website.
Recipients are encouraged to review all NEFs, to validate case information only through CM/ECF, and not to download any attachments or click any links from questionable sources.

Clerk of court for U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel
Applications are now being accepted for the position of clerk of court for the U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel (BAP) for the First Circuit.
The clerk of court is a senior-level management position, combining the duties of court administration with the responsibilities of a senior staff attorney. The clerk administers and coordinates matters pertaining to budget and finance, human resources, space and facilities, information technology, special events and projects, conferences, security, and emergency preparedness in accordance with the Guide to Judiciary Policy. In addition, the clerk is responsible for conducting legal research related to appeals and pending motions, preparing proposed orders for submission to BAP judge(s), drafting bench memoranda, and working with the authoring judge(s) on draft opinions.
