The Massachusetts Bar Association’s Judicial Administration Section is
pleased to bring its “View from the Bench” program series back to Springfield
this December. These programs provide valuable insights for new attorneys and
seasoned litigators, allowing for an opportunity to pose questions to
experienced members of the bench and bar in a comfortable and confidential
environment.
Judicial Administration Section Chair Michael H. Hayden will moderate a panel
discussion with three sitting judges and one experienced litigator who will
discuss e-discovery in the state and federal courts, and recent amendments
concerning electronically stored information (ESI) in the Massachusetts and
Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Massachusetts Rules of Professional
Conduct.
Please join us for a panel discussion,
featuring members of the Superior Court bench, the federal bench and the
Massachusetts bar, concerning e-discovery and, specifically, party obligations
to:
- Preserve
- Disclose
- Produce
- Supplement
Additional topics will include discovery plans for ESI, the potential
sanctions parties may face for non-compliance, cost allocations, subpoena of ESI
from non-parties and ethical obligations of lawyers handling electronic
discovery.
Members of the Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden,
and Hampshire County bar associations, who are not MBA members, can enjoy a
special discounted rate of $25. To register, please contact the Massachusetts
Bar Association Member Service Center at (617)
338-0530.
