The Massachusetts Bar Association’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Committee, in collaboration with the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association, is
thrilled to present a hybrid program featuring a panel of nonbinary attorneys
discussing their workplace experiences.
In recent years, the legal
community has seen an increasing presence of nonbinary and gender nonconforming
individuals, mirroring a broader societal trend as more people feel comfortable
coming out. As greater understandings of gender develop, it's crucial for both
individual workplaces and the legal community as a whole to adapt their policies
and practices to create more inclusive and welcoming environments for nonbinary
individuals. Nonbinary individuals contribute to the legal field in various
roles, including as law students, lawyers, and legal professionals, such as
paralegals.
In this panel discussion, we will hear from nonbinary attorneys who will share their personal experiences and
offer insights into fostering inclusion within legal workplaces. We will
delve into how to intentionally include nonbinary attorneys in the workplace,
as well as self-advocacy strategies. We will specifically touch on bias,
pronouns, misgendering, legal dress code and gender, and work colleagues. Join
us to learn how to advocate for yourself, to be a good ally, and
to promote a more supportive and respectful legal community for all.
We hope to see everyone
at this program. This program is not just for members of the LGBTQIA+ community,
but for all members of the legal profession.
This program is free to the legal community.
This webinar was hosted both in person and using Zoom.
