The Massachusetts Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section and Immigration Law Practice Group are excited to present this program jointly. This program will explore the intersections between immigration law and employment law, allowing practitioners from both disciplines to become more knowledgeable about the overlap.

Specifically, the program will cover the hiring and onboarding process, including permissible interview questions, I-9 completion, and salary requirements. Panelists will also discuss how the evolution of flexible work models, including fully remote workers, presents new and different legal implications. Lastly, the program will address how role changes, leaves of absence, and reductions in force can provoke considerations and actions in employment and immigration law.

The purpose of the program is to ensure that legal practitioners are aware of important compliance issues that arise regularly and require careful examination and strategy, and to help equip practitioners to recognize common scenarios where these intersections occur.

This program was hosted using Zoom.
