Landlord/tenant law is more complicated than many people believe. Knowing the proper procedures and strategies to follow — both before and while in court — can greatly improve your ability to achieve a favorable result for your client and help you avoid common pitfalls. Attendees will learn about the recent developments in this area of law and get the perspective of a Housing Court judge. Topics include:

  • Landlord’s eviction procedures from notice to quit to execution (with forms);
  • Tenant’s perspective in eviction cases;
  • Smoking in apartments including smoke-free buildings;
  • Mold and bed bugs;
  • Fair housing and reasonable accommodations;
  • Recent developments in landlord/tenant law; and
  • A view from the bench.
