The MBA offers a wide array of projects with varying time commitments. The list below includes more than a dozen ways that you can give back to the legal community while working with fellow MBA members.

Choose the activities that interest you most, click submit and an MBA staff member will follow up with you shortly to answer any questions you have about those specific projects.

BUILD YOUR CAREER AND PRACTICE

Join one of the many MBA area-specific practice groups.
Serve as CLE faculty member.
Serve as an arbitrator for the Fee Arbitration Board (FAB).
Seek appointment to an MBA section council.
Seek appointment to an MBA task force or ad hoc committee.

PUBLISH AN ARTICLE

Submit an article for Massachusetts Law Review or MBA Section Review.
Submit an article for MBA Young Lawyers e-Journal.

PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE TO THOSE IN NEED

Staff a "Dial-A-Lawyer" phone bank.
Make an Elder Law Education presentation to a local senior citizen center.
Provide emergency legal assistance to the public during a disaster.
Promote the health and well-being of low-income patients through legal advocacy.

HELP BUILD THE FUTURE OF THE MBA

Join an MBA Mentoring Circle.
Provide one-time mentoring advice to colleagues on an as needed basis.
Sponsor an MBA law student membership for $35.
Serve as an MBA ambassador at networking events.

MENTOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEGAL PROFESSIONALS

Serve as a coach or a judge in a high school Mock Trial competition.
Make a legal career presentation to young people in your community.
Form a Lawyer/Teacher Partnership with an educator in your community through the annual Law Day Initiative.

SERVE THE COMMUNITY

Support MBA community outreach projects such as a toy, food or blood drive.
Participate in "Walk to the Hill" for Legal Aid.
Participate in Young Lawyers Division public service projects.
