Conference highlights include:

Employment and Labor Law Survey
A panel of experts will provide a comprehensive survey of developments in the fields of labor and employment law over the past year, including:
• The high costs of retaliation,
• Associational disability discrimination and ch. 151B (Flagg v. Ali Med, Inc.),
• Independent contractor/misclassification issues,
• Developments in labor law regarding employer work rules and social media policies,
• Evolving areas of public sector collective bargaining, including cell phone and GPS use policies, and
• Review of 2013-2014 decisions from the courts, DLR and NLRB.

Health Law for Employment Lawyers
Learn about employer and worker obligations under the Affordable Care Act.  This presentation will cover:
• Individual mandate,
• Pay or play requirements for employers,
• Affordability,
• Notice and reporting,
• Taxes and fees,
• Health insurance marketplaces, and
• Alignment of Massachusetts' health reform law and the ACA.

Practical Skills: Drafting and Negotiating Settlement and Severance Agreements
Our knowledgeable presenters will address important considerations when dealing with settlement and severance agreements.  Topics will include:
• Negotiation strategies, including demand letter versus filing suit,
• Nature of payments (wages, emotion distress, attorney's fees) and tax treatment of payments,
• Other benefits, including non-monetary terms,
• Release terms and revocation of release,
• Confidentiality, non-disparagement, liquidated damages, no-rehire provision, and cooperation with government entities.
