The Lawyer Referral Service has expanded the marketing of its “Know a good lawyer? We do.” campaign to increase public awareness of the program and drive up call volume. The LRS program is advertising on MBTA buses, subway lines and commuter rail platforms in April, May and June, and is advertising in Exhibit A, a new monthly publication of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly geared toward the public, not the legal community. LRS ads will appear in the April, May, June, September, October and November issues of Exhibit A.
“The main goal of getting involved with the T and Exhibit A is getting the word out to the public to assist them in handling a legal problem or question when they don’t know where to turn to,” said Community and Public Services Director Elizabeth O’Neil.
The new advertising push expands on traditional LRS marketing on the radio, the Internet and yellow page directories.
“We think it will increase the number of calls to the program,” O’Neil said. “The LRS is truly not only a public service, but it’s a member benefit. For those attorneys who want to benefit from our investment, I would highly encourage them to join the LRS.”
Each day, LRS representatives screen approximately 200 calls from the public. Referrals are based on the nature of the caller’s legal issue, as well as their geographic location and financial situation.
