
MBLA to host Women's History Month
Panel on March 28
On Thursday, March 28, from 6-7:30 p.m., the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association (MBLA) will host a Women's History Month Panel: Women Leading the Bar. The program will focus on the women leading bar associations throughout the commonwealth and discuss the path to leadership, as well as specific challenges faced as women leaders.
Speakers will include Massachusetts Bar Association Secretary Shayla Mombeleur; Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys President Desiree Murphy; Eva Jellison, co-chair of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association; MBLA President Tiffanie Ellis Niles; Emily Sy, former president of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts; and Boston Bar Association President Hannah Kilson.

MA Women's Bar Association holds Legislative Breakfast
On March 7, the Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association (WBA), led by the WBA’s Legislative Policy Committee (LPC), hosted its 30th Annual Legislative Breakfast. The LPC was joined in the State House by legislators, their staff, WBA members and coalition partners for its presentation of the organization's 2024 legislative agenda. The annual breakfast serves as a platform for the WBA to advocate for its important legislative priorities.
The WBA presented the 2024 Public Official of the Year Award to Sen. Jamie Eldridge for his tireless advocacy for women, children and families within the commonwealth.
Other speakers included MBA Criminal Justice Section Council member Pauline Quirion of Greater Boston Legal Services, State Rep. Marjorie Decker, Megan Driscoll of the MassHire State Workforce Board, WBA member Andrea Kramer and LPC Co-Chair Kate Symmonds.
