Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024

MassBarEducatesPlease join the Massachusetts Bar Association Bar Association Clemency Task Force members and panelists from the Governor's Office to discuss the new clemency guidelines.

This program will cover:

  • What clemency is and celebrate the importance of the new guidelines
  • What changed and stayed the same in the clemency guidelines
  • Basic training elements on the new guidelines, including procedural and substantive requirements when representing a clemency client
  • Commutations for clients whose offenses occurred at a young age, elders in prison, LGBT+ people, individuals who have suffered violence and trauma, and other special populations
  • Pardons opportunities for pro bono representation

This event is co-sponsored by the Women's Bar Association.
