Four positions with the Trial Court  

The Massachusetts Trial Court is accepting applications for the following positions: 

Research Attorney — Probate and Family Court Administrative Office

The research attorney is a professional position within the Probate and Family Court. This position involves analyzing and researching legal issues and questions for the justices of the court and the Administrative Office, preparing legal memoranda, and drafting judicial decisions and other documents.

Assistant Judicial Case Manager — Hampden Probate and Family Court and Barnstable Probate and Family Court

These positions involve a high level of professional legal and case management work of complex difficulty. Employees in these positions assist the first justice, associate justices and judicial case manager in performing their legal and administrative duties as set forth in state statutes, court rules, standing orders and court policies. Employees are appointed by the first justice of the division, pursuant to G.L. Chapter 217, Section 23D, with the approval of the chief justice of the Probate and Family Court Department.

Law Clerk — Boston Municipal Court Department

The law clerk position is responsible for performing legal research and writing assignments to assist the justices of the Boston Municipal Court Department. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to each of the eight court divisions within Suffolk County.

The law clerk, under the supervision of the chief justice and the direction of the legal counsel, deputy legal counsel and administrative attorneys, will work directly with the justices, assisting them on a variety of assignments that will involve performing legal research, preparing memoranda on cases and legal issues, drafting decisions and orders, and/or attending court sessions, and all legal issues within the Boston Municipal Court Department's civil and criminal jurisdiction.
