GarciaresizedMassachusetts Bar Association President and Morrison Mahoney partner Grace V.B. Garcia was elected to serve as vice chair of the Board of Directors of ALFA International (ALFAI) at the 2022 Annual Meeting, held Oct. 19-20 in Dublin, Ireland. Garcia will serve on the Executive Committee for a two-year term in this new position.

Since 2008, Garcia has been very active within ALFAI, having chaired both its Construction Law and Women’s Initiative practice groups and served as a member of the board. She continues to be on both the Product Liability & Complex Tort and Construction Law steering committees, as well as the North American Membership Committee and Marketing Committee. In addition, she is a frequent speaker at ALFAI seminars.

ALFAI is a nonprofit premier network of independent law firms providing clients with high-quality, cost-efficient legal services throughout the world, as well as offering additional value through seminar and CLE programming, compendia offerings, and networking and relationship-building opportunities.

Albert Maggio HeadshotMassachusetts Bar Association member Albert B. Maggio Jr. of CRGO Law in Boca Raton, Florida, is this year's winner of the Equal Justice Pro Bono Partners Award presented by Legal Services of Greater Miami. The award recognizes partners at law firms who lead by example and accept at least one direct representation pro bono case.

Maggio is being honored for his strong commitment to the development of small businesses and building up the community by focusing on intellectual property cases for small business clients. He personified pro bono leadership by assisting more than 10 clients on complicated transactional matters.

*Awards should not include mentions in Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, AV ratings and other list-type awards due to the large number of attorneys who receive them.
