Join the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Health Law Section on Friday, Sept. 30, for its annual conference. This virtual event will focus on telehealth law. The Health Resources Services Administration defines telehealth as the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, and public and health administration.

The symposium committee is very proud to feature Vita Berg, general counsel of the Board of Registration in Medicine (BORIM); Undersecretary for Health Policy Lauren Peters; Anna Krieger, director of public policy at the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council; and a number of private practitioners to address why telehealth is important and offer insight into important telehealth law issues, such as:

  • Practitioner licensing issues
  • Telehealth and cross-jurisdictional licensing issues
  • Insurance issues
  • Data privacy issues
  • Access issues
  • Remote employees
  • Standards of care
