The Massachusetts Bar Association's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) presents a three-part program series on how to develop and maintain a diverse network and workplace by creating safe, healthy and supportive spaces.
To reflect Mental Health Awareness Month, the series begins with a conversation about microaggressions affecting persons with mental illness and other disabilities.
Learning objectives for Part 1 include:
- Explain the myths about and stigma affecting persons living with mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders
- Describe the discrimination faced by individuals with various disabilities
- Identify how to use respectful language, e.g., person-first language, and accommodations to create a safe and healthy workplace
Co-Sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association's Lawyer Well-Being Committee.
