The Massachusetts Bar Association is looking for lawyers or law students who are interested in cite checking articles slated for publication in the Massachusetts Law Review. First published in 1915 as the Massachusetts Law Quarterly, the Massachusetts Law Review publishes four issues per year and is the longest continually published law review in the nation.
The Massachusetts Law Review generally follows Bluebook format, with some idiosyncrasies found in its own MLR Style Guide. Cite checkers will be required to check every citation in the assigned articles for both substantive and technical accuracy, and shepardize all cases for subsequent history.
Most articles take eight-10 hours or less to check, and cite checkers are typically given a two-week turnaround time for each article. Cite checkers should possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Past cite checking and/or law review experience is not necessary, but preferred.
