Each week, eJournal highlights a wellness resource to bring attention to the helpful organizations, articles and websites that are available for members or anyone who may need assistance.

This summer, whether you’re actively participating in the MBA’s Step into Summer Wellness Challenge or just interested in ideas to improve your wellness, you can benefit from the helpful weekly tips we're sharing about walking.

While walking every day will increase our cardiovascular health and mobility, research has shown that it will also boost our creativity! Walking before an important meeting or piece of work is a great way to enhance our brainpower. Check out these TED talks for more on how walking will increase your creativity:

To track your daily walking, here is a printable and fillable chart. Checking in on how you felt before/during/after your walk is a great way to reinforce the benefits of your walking program. Don’t forget to post your daily progress on Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter using the hashtag #MBAStepIntoSummer. Each post will enter you into a raffle for additional chances to win prizes. Show your fellow members how you are prioritizing your wellness by walking each day!

Find additional wellness resources on the MBA's Health & Well-Being page, which was launched in April 2020 to support member wellness during COVID-19. It features helpful resources for coping with stress, anxiety, panic, substance use disorder and more during the pandemic, with links provided by the ABA Commission on Lawyers Assistance Program, as well as the MBA’s own Lawyer Well-Being Committee.
