Rath, Young and Pignatelli PC, a leading full-service law firm based in Concord, New Hampshire, with offices in Nashua, Boston and Montpelier, Vermont, has announced that attorney James J. Steinkrauss has joined the firm, of counsel, as a member of the Environmental Practice Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Steinkrauss served as deputy general counsel with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, a municipal utility providing water and sewer services to the city of Boston. Steinkrauss represented the commission in a wide variety of environmental, permitting, real estate and other transactions, and has almost 20 years of experience litigating matters in state and federal courts, including defense of a Clean Water Act citizen action suit and tort defense.
He was responsible for ensuring environmental compliance with NPDES MS4 permit, Consent Decree implementation, reporting, Lead and Copper Rule compliance, and other environmental/hazmat matters. Steinkrauss worked with local, state and federal agencies on all levels in matters related to real estate transactions, permitting, public construction, procurement, records, ethics and other matters related to municipal utility operations.
