The 2019 Elder Law Education Guide, the Massachusetts Bar Association’s (MBA) resource guide on a wide range of legal issues affecting the lives of seniors, is now online.
This year marks the 10th edition of the MBA's elder law resource guide, as well as 30-plus years of the annual Elder Law Education Program developed in celebration of Law Day during the month of May. The 2019 Elder Law Education Guide is made possible due to the participation, generous assistance and continued collaboration of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Some of the topics included in the guide are:
- Important Questions as We Age
- Veterans Affairs Financial Benefits
- MassHealth (Medicaid)
- Reverse Mortgages
- Medicare: What You Need to Know
- Long-term Care Insurance
- Homestead, Life Estate and Tax Exemptions
You can download this informative resource here. The guide was distributed to all participating councils on aging, senior centers and attorney volunteers. For more information regarding this volunteer opportunity, please contact the MBA's Community Service Department at (617) 338-0695.
