The MBA's Young Lawyers Division hosted a meet-and-greet reception on Wednesday, March 27. Attendees had an opportunity to network and speak with current and past YLD board members about their involvement in the division and the MBA -- just in time to apply to become a member of the board.

The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Massachusetts Bar Association is seeking candidates for its board of directors, and applications are due by Friday, April 12. The board of directors comprises four officers (chair, chair-elect, treasurer and secretary), 12 directors-at-large and a director from each of the 12 regions (Berkshire, Bristol, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, Worcester and Barnstable/Dukes/Nantucket). The YLD is accepting applications for all positions, except the position of chair.

This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the YLD and the MBA. The board meets once each month to discuss and organize volunteer projects, continuing legal education seminars, and community events. This year's division sponsored many events, including networking socials and a trip to a Bruins game, as well as several volunteer opportunities.

Being a director presents a great opportunity to network with fellow young lawyers and energize the MBA with your thoughts, suggestions and ideas. The meetings are usually held at the MBA, 20 West St., Boston, but there is also a convenient teleconference option for those who are not able to attend in person. We welcome the opportunity to hold meetings in other locations throughout the commonwealth.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the YLD Board of Directors, complete an application and submit it with your resume by Friday, April 12
