U.S. District Court of Mass. to continue operations

newsfromcourtsRobert M. Farrell, clerk of court of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, recently issued the following statement in response to the ongoing partial shutdown of the federal government. 

"Regardless of the length of the ongoing lapse in appropriations, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts will continue to exercise the full judicial authority authorized under Article III of the U.S. Constitution. All cases, both civil and criminal, will proceed as normal business before the court.

"The U.S. Courthouses in Boston, Springfield, and Worcester will maintain normal business hours and will be open to the public."
