Three areas that present special risks for Massachusetts in-house counsel are:
- Responsibly addressing, through effective compliance and security programs, the ever-growing cybersecurity threats in today’s world
- Compliance with the variable and evolving landscape of data privacy laws, including the new California Consumer Privacy Act, the EU General Data Protection Regulation and other new restrictions affecting an organization’s management of personal information
- Compliance with new Massachusetts laws affecting personnel
The program will include presentations on these and other topics of interest to in-house counsel.
This year's keynote address will be given by Massachusetts Attorney General Maura T. Healey.
Other noteworthy speakers will include U.S. District Court Judge Timothy S. Hillman and Timothy D. Smith, chief privacy officer for enterprise and compliance with the Unum Group.
