 MBF Appeal Graphic- Yellow Bow

"The opposite of poverty is not wealth. The opposite of poverty is justice."
-- Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative

To many, the concept of justice is a lofty ideal. The notion of living in a society that is truly fair and equitable for all its citizens may seem utopian and out of reach -- especially now, when we face a barrage of injustices, individual and systemic, on an almost daily basis.

To those in the legal community, however, it is times like these that inspire us to hold on even tighter to the aspiration of justice, however idealistic it may seem. In the face of mounting oppression and injustice, we must stand strong and rise up to defend the rule of law and protect those among us who are the most vulnerable. One way that Massachusetts lawyers and judges can band together to have a meaningful impact is through a gift to the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.

If you feel thankful for what the legal profession has given you and your family this year, please consider giving back by making a donation to the Massachusetts Bar Foundation (MBF).

As the philanthropic partner of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the foundation works to increase access to justice for all in our state through its grant-making and charitable activities. The MBA is proud to support the MBF and its efforts to provide much-needed resources to legal-services programs around the commonwealth.

For 55 years, the MBF has provided funding to legal aid programs working to advance the cause of justice in every corner of our state -- helping resolve issues related to domestic violence, immigration, homelessness, special education advocacy, discrimination and more. In so many cases, this assistance offers a crucial first step away from poverty and toward a hopeful future.

Working together, we form a strong philanthropic community that expands access to justice in very significant ways. Click here to join us and make your tax-deductible contribution today.
