On Wednesday, April 10, the House Committee on Ways and Means released its budget for fiscal year 20. The budget proposal included $22.5 million in funding for Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC), $1.5 million over the FY19 appropriation, but short of MLAC’s request of $26 million. Rep. Ruth Balser has filed an amendment that seeks an additional $1.5 million in funding. The full House is expected to debate the FY20 budget next week.
