Call your state representative and support Civil Legal Aid Funding

Legislative ImageOn Wednesday, April 10, the House Committee on Ways and Means released its budget for fiscal year 20. The budget proposal included $22.5 million in funding for Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC), $1.5 million over the FY19 appropriation, but short of MLAC’s request of $26 million. Rep. Ruth Balser has filed an amendment that seeks an additional $1.5 million in funding. The full House is expected to debate the FY20 budget next week.
