The Animal Law Practice Group Presents: A Legislative Update - Protect Animal Welfare and Safety
Thursday, Oct. 18, 6-7:30 p.m.
MBA, 20 West St., Boston
Join the Animal Law Practice Group for a discussion of the latest developments at the State House to protect animals.
On Aug. 9, Gov. Charlie Baker signed into law An Act to Protect Animal Welfare and Safety (PAWS II). The bill was the product of two years of work by the Animal Cruelty Task Force, a group formed in 2014 with the passage of the first PAWS bill. The Task Force members included the Massachusetts Bar Association, animal protection groups, the Massachusetts District Attorney Association, the state police, and several other stakeholders and agencies.
Join us to learn about the key parts of the PAWS II bill, how it will protect animals, and how many of the provisions were developed.
