The Massachusetts Bar Foundation recently hosted two receptions to honor this year’s grantees and the 2018 President’s Award recipients. This year, the MBF awarded $2.3 million to 90 programs, conducted by 60 different nonprofit organizations, through its annual IOLTA grants program. Additional grants were provided for law student internships at legal assistance organizations, as well as to several law-related education programs. The receptions were a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the important work of all of the grantees and to thank MBF supporters for all that they do to promote equal access to justice in our state.
The MBF’s Eastern Mass. reception was held at the Massachusetts Bar Association, in Boston, on Sept. 27. Grantee remarks were provided by attorney Anna S. Richardson, co-executive director and chief counsel of Veterans Legal Services. Attorney Albert P. Zabin of Greater Boston Legal Services, and formerly of Duane Morris, received a President’s Award.
Guests gathered at Bulkley Richardson in Springfield for the MBF Western Mass. reception. Attorney Nora Grais-Clements of the Victim Rights Law Center, also a 2011 recipient of the MBF Legal Intern Program Fellowship, was the event’s grantee speaker. Attorney Lawrence J. Farber of Farber & Lindley in Amherst, received a President’s Award.
