The Massachusetts Bar Foundation Trustees are proud to announce that attorney Lonnie A. Powers will receive this year’s Great Friend of Justice Award. The award will be presented at the foundation’s upcoming annual meeting when MBF Fellows, grantees and friends join together to learn about and celebrate all that the foundation has accomplished over the last year in its efforts to increase access to justice in our state.

The event will begin with a business meeting and close with a cocktail reception. The MBF Society of Fellows will elect officers and trustees for 2018, and will also honor the newest MBF Life Fellows. In addition to the award presentation and keynote address by Lonnie Powers, attorney Anita Sharma, executive director of the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project, will deliver the grantee address.
Founded in 1964, the Massachusetts Bar Foundation (MBF) is the philanthropic partner of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Through its grant making and charitable activities, the MBF works to increase access to justice for all Massachusetts residents. In 2017, the MBF awarded grants totaling almost $2.4 million to legal service related programs across Massachusetts.
