Join fellow probate judges and practitioners for the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Sixth Annual Probate Law Conference -- the largest gathering of probate practitioners in the commonwealth -- on Friday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Four Points Sheraton, 1125 Boston Providence Turnpike, Norwood.

In addition to opening remarks by Probate and Family Court Chief Justice John D. Casey, this year's keynote speaker will be Raymond H. Young. Young has been active in probate and trust reform, including enactment of the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code and the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code.

Whether your focus is estate planning, administration, probate litigation or guardianship/conservatorship matters, this unique conference provides something for everyone, from aspiring to veteran practitioners.

The conference offers 20 courses over multiple programming tracks, providing timely updates about probate practices, procedures and forms, new regulations, and important court decisions. You’ll also hear practice tips from an extensive faculty of judges and leading probate and estate planning attorneys. Featured topics at this year's conference include:

  • MUPC late and limited proceedings
  • ABC’s of guardianship
  • Resolving will contests by motions to strike and motions for summary judgment
  • MassHealth updates
  • Guardianships involving alcohol, opioids and other substances

We again anticipate this MBA program to qualify for four credits for CPCS and for GAL’s Category D re-certification.
