House Committee on Ways and Means releases its FY19 budget

Legislative ImageOn Wednesday, April 11, the House Committee on Ways and Means released its budget for FY19. The budget proposal included $20 million in funding for Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation, $2 million over FY18 appropriation, but short of MLAC’s request of $5 million in additional funding. Reps. Claire Cronin and Ruth Balser have filed an amendment which seeks an additional $2 million in funding. The full House is expected to debate the FY19 budget the week of April 23.
