On Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the residents of Western Massachusetts will receive free legal advice through the MBA's semiannual Western Mass. Dial-A-Lawyer call-in program. Volunteer lawyers from the MBA will field phone calls from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for residents of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties who have legal concerns or problems.
During previous Dial-A-Lawyer programs, attorneys answered questions on a wide range of legal questions, including issues involving workers' compensation, divorce, estate issues, landlord disputes, health and Medicare problems, criminal matters, discrimination and adoption.
Volunteers are needed to staff the phones in shifts. You do not have to be an expert in every area of law to participate. Most callers have general legal questions, and if the call is more complicated, other attorneys in the room can assist in answering questions.
We are in need of volunteers for the 4- 5:30 p.m. and/or 5:30 - 7 p.m. shifts.
If you are able to participate, please complete this form. Make sure to let us know what time you will be available to volunteer, so we can add your name to our list of participants.
