Plan to attend the Massachusetts Bar Association's Inaugural Complex Commercial Litigation Conference on April 14, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency in Boston. This year's conference will feature a keynote address from Supreme Judicial Court Justice Robert J. Cordy. Programming panels include:

IP Panel:  How Intellectual Property Law Impacts Commercial Litigation
Get an overview of the variety of mechanisms available to protect an organization's technology and intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and non-compete clauses. Panelists will focus in particular on state law remedies for misappropriation of intellectual property and address the newly developing area of potential state law remedies against coercive infringements threats by "patent trolls."

Bankruptcy Panel:  Kicking Over the Chessboard -- Everything a Civil Litigator Needs to Know
Our panel of distinguished bankruptcy litigators will discuss the most important topics non-bankruptcy practitioners need to know when a litigant files for bankruptcy. Learn how the bankruptcy filing will impact the procedural and substantive aspects of the case, and be prepared to react quickly. Panelists will provide pointers on how to get a case back on track.

Business Litigation Panel:  The Perspective from the Other Side of the Bench
This presentation will examine realistic, substantive and procedural quandaries that attorneys encounter on a regular basis -- from the perspective of the bench. A distinguished panel of judges from federal court and state court, including the Business Litigation Session, and an arbitrator will provide insight on best practices for dealing with some of the complex and recurring issues that attorneys face as a part of their practice.

CLE credit will be offered. For more information, call (617) 338-0546.
