The Massachusetts Chapter of SOLACE -- an e-mail based network of legal professionals in Massachusetts who are interested in helping other members of the Massachusetts legal "family" -- received a request seeking attorneys willing to provide assistance to members of the legal community in South Carolina who are out of their homes or otherwise in need of assistance as a result of the recent flooding in their state.

The request came from the Hon. Jay C. Zainey of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana, who co-founded the first SOLACE chapter in New Orleans. (Read an excerpt from his email, below.)

If you are interested in assisting on this matter, please take a moment to join the Massachusetts Chapter of SOLACE here.

Here is an excerpt of the request from Judge Zainey:

Dear SOLACE members,

Our attorney colleagues in Columbia and many other areas of South Carolina need our help in recovering from their disastrous floods.

Lawyers from throughout the country assisted our New Orleans area lawyers in their time of need during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and I have assured our friends in Columbia that our Louisiana lawyers, as well as our SOLACE members throughout the country are ready, willing and able to assist in any way that we can.

Many thanks...
