"They can't absorb [550 layoffs]. You've got the courts at their breaking point."

MBA Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Operating Officer Martin W. Healy, Boston Business Journal, March 5, 2015

Healy was quoted in a BBJ story about possible cuts to court funding under Governor Charlie Baker's recently released budget proposal. The trial courts estimate that they could be forced to lay off hundreds of employees under the current proposal.

"This doesn't preclude anybody from going after the MBTA on their own whether it's a class action suit or not."

Elikann spoke to FOX 25 as part of a story on the MBTA's plan to compensate riders for canceled and delayed trains caused by winter storms. Cash riders can ride for free on April 24 and monthly pass holders will receive a 15 percent discount for the month of May.
