The Massachusetts Bar Association is proud to co-sponsor
MassINC's Second Annual Massachusetts Criminal Justice
Reform Coalition Summit on March 16, at UMass Boston, which
will highlight the state's judicial branch.
The overarching
policy focus this year will be state and federal sentencing
practices and reforms. The program will include a keynote address
from SJC Chief Justice Ralph D. Gants and closing remarks from
Attorney General Maura Healey. Also included will be a presentation
of new research from Bruce Western,
Guggenheim Professor
of Criminal Justice Policy at Harvard University, and two panel discussions:
"High-Performing Sentencing Commissions" and "Justice for Special
Populations."
This free program will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at
UMass Boston Campus Center, 100 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston. The
summit is presented by MassINC, the Massachusetts Criminal Justice
Reform Coalition, Community Resources for Justice and the MBA.
