The Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA) will host its 2014 Annual Awards Reception on Thursday, October 30 at the UMass Club, 225 Franklin Street, Boston. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12 p.m.

Massachusetts Bar Association President-elect Robert W. Harnais will be honored with MAHA's 2014 Leadership Award in recognition of his leadership and dedication to the Hispanic bar.

"Bob has been a tireless advocate for those less fortunate in the Hispanic community, and has been a champion for Hispanic lawyers throughout the commonwealth," said MAHA President Jessica Massey. "He has been an ardent supporter of MAHA for more than 20 years, and over that timeframe, has consistently pushed whoever occupies the governor's office to increase diversity on the bench. MAHA is honored to have someone like Bob as a lifetime member, and we are thrilled to share this day with him."

Other award recipients are: Hon. Roberto Ronquillo, Jr., chief justice, Boston Municipal Court (Lifetime Achievement Award); Alberto Mora, Harvard University, Advanced Leadership Initiative (Corporate Social Responsibility Award) and Eva A. Millona, executive director, Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (Organization of the Year Award).
