Please join the Education Law Practice Group meeting on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 4:30 p.m., at the MBA in Boston. The Massachusetts Problem Resolution System (PRS) Office ensures that students, families, school districts and other community members have easy access to information regarding learners’ rights and educational options and provides a forum for the resolution of disputes that is prompt, accurate and fair, but how much do you really know about this important resource? The Education Law Practice Group is excited to have Barry Barnett, director of the PRS Office, joining us to talk about PRS and some changes it has gone through in recent years. Questions may be submitted ahead of time to

Barry Barnett is the director of the Problem Resolution System Office at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Barnett started with the department in 1994 as an education specialist responsible for complaint investigation and resolution. He then moved to the Office of Charter Schools and School Redesign, where he spent 14 years working with new and existing charter schools on issues related to access and equity. He returned to manage the Problem Resolution System five years ago.
